Meet the coach & trainer...
Hello, and thank you for visting my website. My name is Jason Anderson. I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself and my training style/philosophies.
After spending over nine years of active duty service in the U.S. Coast Guard, I left the military, went to business school, and started a new job as a personal trainer. After awhile, I decided that I wanted to make a career in the health and fitness field. Now, I am pursuing my Master's Degree in Kinesiology.
I have always been active - participating in sports or any other outdoor activities I could find. It wasn't until a few years ago that I began to run with a purpose. I always ran to stay in shape, but it always seemed like an enigma to me. I would run as hard as I could for as far as I could every time with seemingly little gains. I began studying run training strategies and exercise physiology principles.
Since then I have participated in numerous marathons and triathlons, as well as expanded my knowledge in the field of health and wellness, and sports conditioning. I continue to push myself and my athletes into new realms of possibilities.
My training style and philosophy...
I try to take a holistic approach with everything I do. Sometimes the simplist explanation is the best for any given problem. As humans we tend to overthink and overanalyze almost everything. Then we take knowledge we gain from a magazine article and apply it to our lives. Sound familiar? All I ask is that you open your mind to a few less conventional strategies when seeking the best option for your health and well being.
I use a balance of science, experience, and intuition with each of my clients. This is why many classify coaching as part science and part art.
Please join me in exploring your true potential. You can accomplish things you never thought were possible.
About my certifications...
I have spent much of my time (and money) to develop myself as a coach and trainer though education and experience. Here is a list of a few certifications and training courses. Click on the icons to visit each organization's website.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Founded in 1978, it is one of the few nonprofit oranizations that offer certifications.
I am a Level I Certified Triathlon Coach by USA Triathlon. Triathlon is a fast growing sport that is testing the limits of all participants - young, old, beginners, elites, etc...
I am a running coach through the Road Runners Club of America. The RRCA is continuously devoting time to spread knowledge of the benefits gained through running.
I have also spent time in the USA Track & Field Level I coaching program. USATF is a wonderful organization. Many people do not realize that they can compete nationally at any age group. Sports competitions are not just for the young. I highly encourage everyone to entertain the thought of harnessing their athletic abilities.
